God wants to use every method and person He can to accomplish much for the Kingdom of God. We each have a part to play and God sees our commitment as equal. Look at what Paul says in I Corinthians 3:5-9 in the New Living Translation:
“After all, who is Apollos? Who is Paul? We are only God’s servants through whom you believed the Good News. Each of us did the work the Lord gave us. I planted the seed in your hearts, and Apollos watered it, but it was God who made it grow. It’s not important who does the planting, or who does the watering. What’s important is that God makes the seed grow. The one who plants and the one who waters work together with the same purpose. And both will be rewarded for their own hard work. For we are both God’s workers. And you are God’s field. You are God’s building.” 1 Cor. 3:5-9 NLT
Koinonia is a Greek word seen at least twenty times in the New Testament. One well known, simple definition is fellowship. But there are many more definitions including; joint participation, PARTNERSHIP, participative sharing in the gospel.
I love what Philippians 1:3 says about this same concept:
“Every time I think of you, I give thanks to my God. Whenever I pray, I make my requests for all of you with joy, for you have been my partners in spreading the Good News about Christ from the time you first heard it until now. And I am certain that God, who began the good work within you, will continue his work until it is finally finished on the day when Christ Jesus returns.” Phil. 1:3-6 NLT
